Goodbye mojo!

Happy Wednesday! It's a beautiful spring day here in Lancashire, I even spotted the sun earlier. One thing I haven't spotted is my crafting mojo. It appears to have gone walkabout, so if you spot it can you send it back to me please? I'm guessing it's probably because I'm tired and that my pain isn't too well controlled at the moment.
I had to make a birthday card for my niece who is twelve on Sunday, so I used the gorjuss kit that I bought from create and craft a little while ago. Included in the kit were printed 6x6 cards and decorated envelopes (peeking behind the card) so used them as the base. I selected one of the die cut decoupage toppers, but I kept ripping the pips, so only used two layers in the end. I ignored the base layer as it had a framed edge to it and I wanted to use a doily from my stash, so kept that layer for another card. I used papers from the kit for the background and punched and layered flowers out of them too. I added in a layer of silver Miri and die cut some silver Marianne leafy swirls and snipped to fit. I used AB gems for the flower centres and added a cream and silver sentiment from craftwork cards on top of one of the punched flowers. Lack of mojo meant that I defaulted to my standard card - pin dot squares, old flower punches with flowers in the bottom left corner. Do any of you have a card making default too? I might add some glitter later, who doesn't want sparkly lilac hair?!

  1. Hi Cara, well I think you must have found your mojo as this card is just perfek for your niece. And a bit of glitter never goes a miss

  2. Oh it's lovely - gorjuss in fact - and I had to laugh as tomorrow I will be posting a card made using the same image! It will be interesting to compare how we've used it. It's one of the things I love about crafting, give a group of crafters exactly the same materials and they will all make something completely different.
I'm not sure about having a default, but I do tend to make several cards in a row using the same layout without even realising I've done it.

  3. Hi Cara, well for someone who's lost their crafting mojo you've done a super job on this card. I'm sure your niece will absolutely love Gorgus and friend and a little glitter is always good. Barbxx

  4. Lovely. Sorry, I've not seen your mojo. Maybe just some coloring of images or other mindless task will help. For me, I clean. Then when I find something I haven't seen for awhile the 'oh shiny thing' moment kicks in and I want to play with it... instead of cleaning. LOL

I do miss Bob when he's gone but I have plenty to keep me busy and I can work my own schedule. Would never want to be without him on a permanent basis but is nice to stay home and just do my thing. Creative Blessings and hugs! Kel

  6. So this is what you make when Mojo is looking the other way! I think you need to tell Mojo she is redundant. This is gorgeous. I lov ehow you have taken a basic kit and tweaked it to your own requirements. hugs Mrs A.

  7. Er..this is what you make when your mojo disappears is it? I think that your mojo is just fine. I like the tweak of the kit, it feels like you. I agree my desk needs to be messier, I promise to work on that tonight. Cx

  8. Oh gosh! Wish my mojo was half this good when it runs away! That's a fabulous make Cara. Ooooooh I do so agree that sparkly lilac hair would be amazing ;-). Well It's clear why those pindot squares are a default because they are fab and elegant. My default is to get really messy and distressed the bejeebers out of a piece of card when I lose my mojo (hard to believe with all the CAS cards I'm doing at the moment eh?)
Anyway, I just adore your card today.

  9. I think sparkly purple hair sounds just fab as for mojo hunting my quite often disappears without notice, usually when I open my craft room door and notice the little pixies haven't been and done a night clean!
Loving your default card style, I tend to default to CAS, less time more cards!

  10. What a gorjuss(!) card Cara. Are you SURE you have lost your mojo, cuz I'd like to make cards like this when mine's gone walkabout!
If I see your Mojo I'll be sure to send it back so you can make even MORE gorgeous cards.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx
