The Flower Challenge #73 Reminder - Use a Sentiment

It’s our 6th Birthday over at The Flower Challenge! To celebrate our birthday we have lots of amazing prizes on offer, so don’t forget to check out the rules on our blog when you enter as we’d hate you to miss out! I’ve shamelessly cut and pasted all the prize details from our blog further down…

Don’t  forget to check out my amazing teamies work and join our birthday celebrations!

I rustled up a quick birthday card for my reminder post, using a Sue Wilson die set I’ve had for ages, I think it’s her Austrian Background and the sentiment is a Sue wWilson one too. The flourishes are Sizzix Adorned and I have no idea what die I used to cut the foam for the flowers as they were just in a pile of leftover petals!

We have lots of PRIZES for our lucky winners this month too, see list below. They will all be allocated on a random basis. As usual we will choose one person to be our overall winner but all winners will get prizes.

Please note that you can find us on facebook and also Instagram too. Our Instagram page is @theflowerchallenge2...remember the 2 at the end ;)

Please don't forget to use your Florals as always and as the Main feature on your card.
Only 6 other challenges allowed as well as our own.
Also please take a few minutes to read our rules in the tab above as you may lose out on winning prizes this time too. Bought flowers or ones just cut out from design paper alone are NOT allowed. If in any doubt, please do ask.

The Flower Challenge #73 - Use a Sentiment - 6th Birthday Celebration!

Oh my word! It’s our 6th Birthday over at The Flower Challenge! I can’t believe it was 6 years ago since the fantastic Aileen invited me to enjoy her new idea. I can’t believe either that they haven’t kicked me out (although I suspect it’s been very tempting a few times!). It’s been a fantastically supportive team over the past 6 years and has been my motivation to craft regularly throughout some challenging times.

To celebrate our birthday we have lots of amazing prizes on offer, so don’t forget to check out the rules on our blog when you enter as we’d hate you to miss out! I’ve shamelessly cut and pasted all the prize details from our blog further down…

I made a very simple card using my new John Next Door Hellebore and Majestic Ivy stamps and dies on a kraft card base. I think the sentiment may be Paper Boutique, but I’ve no idea where the packaging is to confirm that!

Don’t  forget to check out my amazing teamies work and join our birthday celebrations!

We have lots of PRIZES for our lucky winners this month too, see list below. They will all be allocated on a random basis. As usual we will choose one person to be our overall winner but all winners will get prizes.

The Flower Challenge #72 - Add Sparkle

September and it definitely seems that the nights are starting to draw in here. Chilly mornings (so not great when the fire alarm goes off first thing at work and you’re stood outside without a cardigan on for 15 minutes until they work out it’s a faulty sensor!). Our new Flower Challenge this month is to “Add Sparkle” to your floral creations.

My challenge card this month decided to mutate into a spooky Halloween card in keeping with the autumnal changes.  I made a background with Craft Artist shimmer sprays (not that the shimmer shows up on the photo of course, it just makes the background look lighter than it is, the second photo shows a more accurate colour). I used the Sizzix Filigree Border die, then it went a bit creepy when I added some Platinum dust distress glitter to the centre of the flowers, giving me Little Shop of Horror vibes.

In my defence, I hadn’t intended to use that glitter, but I am currently battling an invasion of small mammals with long tails that have taken over the row of houses where I live. Shudder. I can safely say that they’re not as cute as the ones on stamps drawn by Ellen Jareckie and they stink! I’ve therefore been decluttering and boxing up lots of my craft stuff to speed up their eviction and now can’t find anything. That said, the creepy vibes gave me an excuse to use my lovely Tim Holtz Bold Text Halloween dies that had just arrived, so at least I could find them!

As ever, I can’t wait to see your creations this month, don’t forget to check out our rules and my teamies and our fab guest DT’s stunning creations.

The Flower Challenge #70 Reminder - CAS

If you’re in the UK I hope you’re not melting in this recent hot weather and are staying safe and cool. It’s time for a reminder about our current challenge at The Flower Challenge and this month we want to see clean and simple creations. I used the main stamp from the Funky Fossil “Hello Gorgeous” set, stamped off the corner of the card. I used my polychromos pencils and settled in for a good colouring session! Once again a touch of glitter and a doodled border to finish.

The Flower Challenge #70 - CAS

July! How did that happen? Time definitely passes more quickly the older you get. Weekends don’t last anywhere near long enough that’s for sure!

As it’s July, it’s time for our new challenge at The Flower Challenge and this month we want to see clean and simple creations. I used a stamp from the Funky Fossil “Hello Gorgeous” set. I got out my polychromos pencils and fussy cut it before adding to the card with foam tape. The sentiment is from the same set. To finish a touch of glitter and a doodled border of course. Simples!

As ever, I’m looking forward to seeing your creations.

The Flower Challenge #69 Reminder - Use Blue and Yellow

Yup, I’m back with a reminder post about our current challenge - Use Blue and Yellow at The Flower Challenge

Another simple card this time. I used the clean up from the stencil after making my first card. Once dry I blended some blue distress oxides over the top. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the flowers from Aall & Create #517 and added on foam tape. A Clarity Stamp sticker sentiment and doodled border to finish along with a touch of glitter on the flowers. Simples!

Don’t forget to check out our challenge rules and the fab creations of my teamies and guest DT.

The Flower Challenge #69 Use Blue and Yellow

Happy June! If like me you’re in the UK, I hope you’re enjoying the extra long weekend for the Platinum Jubilee. A new month means it’s time for a new challenge and so over at The Flower Challenge we want you to use Blue and Yellow.

I made a very simple card this month. Indigo Blu sparkle paste through an Anna Marie Designs stencil, then stamps from Aall and Create #624 set with the crocus fussy cut and added on foam tape. Obviously a doodled border to finish!

As ever, I’m looking forward to seeing your creations. Don’t forget to check out my teamies amazing creations and our fab guest designer too!

The Flower Challenge #68 - Use a number

I’ve tried to resist saying it for a bit, but seriously, where is the time going?! I can’t believe it’s May already, there is a beautiful avenue of cherry trees near the end of my journey into work and it’s been a delight to see them come into beautiful pink blossom and then rain petals like confetti as they go over. With lockdowns etc I’ve missed seeing them in full bloom for a couple of years.

If flowers inspire you too, why not join us for our new challenge over at The Flower Challenge where this month we want you to add a number.

My card was inspired by the pink blossom and was my 18th birthday card for my niece (I definitely can’t believe how quickly those 18 years have flown!)

I used Heartfelt Creations Wild Rose and stamps and dies, Tim Holtz Shadow number dies, a stencil from Celebr8 and Bloomar Designs laser cut embellishments.

As ever, please remember to check our rules and we’d love if you could add our badge in your post. Don’t forget too to check out my amazing teamies and our fabulous guest designer’s work. Happy crafting!

The Flower Challenge #67 Add a Heart Reminder

Happy Easter! I hope the Easter bunny is kind to you and brings you lots of eggs! Here in England we have bank (public) holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday, so a lovely long weekend to relax and craft.

If you’re wondering what to make, why not join our current challenge over at The Flower Challenge and this month, we want you to add a heart.

I used the same stencil from Heffy Doodle as my previous card, but this time used purple distress ink through it. The flower is an old Woodware stamp that I stamped on white card and coloured with Jane Davenport ink markers and then fussy cut. I added a bit of glitter to the flower centre, a clarity stamp sentiment and a doodled border to finish. Simples!

As ever, I can’t wait to see your cards and don’t forget to check out my teamies and our guest designers amazing makes.

The Flower Challenge #67 Add a Heart

I hope that everyone is keeping well, it’s time for our new challenge The Flower Challenge and this month, we want you to add a heart.

I used a sunflower from a recent Clarity Stamp release that I coloured with watercolour pens then fussy cut. In the background I used a Heffy Doodle stencil and applied foil transfer medium through it and then added blue foil. The tag is from an old LOTV set and the string bow was from the name tag they put on my car keys when I had it serviced! Of course a doodled border to finish it off.

The Flower Challenge Reminder #66 Use Scraps

It’s time for a reminder of our current challenge over at The Flower Challenge and this month we want you to did out those left over bits (that we all can’t quite bear to throw away).

I used a the same bits of papers that I used for my first card and also some flower forming foam flowers that looking back on my blog I made around December along with a few die cut leaves and another Clarity Stamp sentiment strip and of course a few squiggles.

Please check out my teamies and our guest designers fantastic work too.

The Flower Challenge #66 Use Scraps

I hope you and your loved ones ate safe and well in these uncertain times, my heart goes out to those living in Ukraine.

A new month and a new challenge over at The Flower Challenge and this month we want you to did out those left over bits (that we all can’t quite bear to throw away).

I had a rummage and found some bits from an old Lili of the Valley paper pad and some leftover stamped and fussy cut Altenew images. I only used a tiny bit of the papers for my first card.

As ever we can’t wait to see what you create this month, and please check out my teamies and our guest designers fantastic work too.
