Crafting Live at Bolton

I went to Crafting Live at the Bolton Arena this morning, the first time it's been run by them, rather than Hunkdory. It was pretty busy and there were a good number of stands. I bumped into a couple of crafting friends there and managed to spend up, even without their encouragement! I'd been after a new guillotine for a while as mine has developed a dodgy cutting bit partway down the blade. Hubby will no doubt fail to understand why I also bought a smaller version - you lovely crafters will know that having a small one that you can keep close to hand is well, handy! They don't show up very well, on the photos, but I also bought two sets of Rare Earth flower stamps and a set of their dusting/blending brushes. Finally, sneaking into the photo are 4 Lil of the Valley stamps.
Of course the spending didn't stop there. They were doing free make and takes throughout the day with various companies, but also Screen Sensations were doing a one hour workshop for just under £40, however this included the screen printing kit, a tub of paint and a 12x12 stencil, worth £115 in total! It was so helpful to have the tuition and guidance, along with top tips, and hands on practicing on paper and a couple of different types of fabrics. Obviously, I spent extra on some more paints and screens (including one with bunnies on), well when they were all on 3 for 2, it would have been rude not too!
I have great plans (when we eventually move house) to screen print the plain curtains and cushions and possibly anything else that is flat and doesn't move! I came home laden with all my goodies, which unfortunately means that my neck and shoulders are suffering now. An early night tonight, methinks!

  1. Looks like it was worth getting sore shoulders and neck for LOL xxx Great stash and yes us crafters can understand the 'need' for two different sizes of guillotines x Not tried screen printing before but it looks fun? x

  2. Totally understand the need to two cutters. I could not manage without my small one...and so much easier to lug to a crop or card making session.
    Your treasures are wonderful!

  3. Hi Cara, I have sent you a reply from your comment to me but had to pop over to see what you've got. Yes I think you've hidden far too much! We need to see more sweetie. I think this new method for screen printing looks good. I used to teach it but it was a lot more messy how we had to do it. Have a great weekend, Angela xXx

  10. Hi Cara, well you seem to have had a fun filled day and come home with some wonderful new supplies, screen printing takes me back when Dad used to create his own stencils and things for the local scout group. Hope you are feeling better soon so you can get up to some mischief with those new goodies... Have a wonderful week... Megan

  12. Ah ha! Now I understand why you were tired after Friday ;) Love a good craft show, always lots to spend on and things to see. Nice that you ran into a couple of friends too. I have had my Dahle trimmer for about 12 years, he comes with a 10 year blade and only now is he getting a bit blunt (19.99 from rymans) Looking forward to seeing the stenciled cushions / curtains (at some point). Oh and I have a smaller trimmer too, how would you manage without it? Cx
