Oldie on Friday

Friday at last! Whoopee! It's still stupidly hot, but we had a torrential downpour this afternoon, just as I left work. Fortunately I had my small brolly with me, but my trousers were soaked through by the time I got to my car and I was paddling inside my shoes! The usual place flooded by Wrightington Hospital on my way home and it was down to single cars taking turns to drive down the middle of the road to get through it, still it washed the underside of my car nicely.
Being Friday it's time to link up with the lovely Erika to share a crafting oldie. Today's oldie is a Valentine's card that I made for my now Hubby about 5 years ago. It was the first time I'd tried stamping with flitter glue and adding gilding flakes and boy did I struggle with it! This card was the best of a bad bunch, the leaves of the tree are hearts but you can hardly tell from the over stamping. Oh well, Hubby feigned delight at receiving it. Don't think we've bothered with Valentine's Day since then! Apologies for the dodgy photo, mirri card is a pig to photograph in the dim evening with the lights on.
Hope you all have a great weekend x

  1. Cara you've obviously had better weather than us today, been dull all day but on the upside it is yet to rain.
A beautiful oldie, your golden heart tree is just perfect for Valentines day, as is the colour combination.
Thanks for joining me in sharing an oldie this weekend. Have a good one.

    Hugs Erika. X

  2. Hi Cara, beautiful card, and I know just what you mean about the gilding flakes, I struggled with them too, I just gave up.
    Super oldie, Kate x

  3. What a great card Cara! Love the gold accents. It's always fun to remember older projects and see if or how our style has changed. Hope you have a great weekend. hugs :)

  4. Hi Cara, I think your oldie looks lovely. I seem to end up with flakes stuck all over my fingers when I give it a go. Barbxx
