Ladybird or Ladybug?

The weather really doesn't know what it's playing at does it? Baking hot and sticky this morning, thunderstorms this afternoon and it's the middle of September! Spent most of last night and all this morning looking for my newish melded tattered lace dies. Looked everywhere and even got the bags out if the wheelie bin to check, two day old melon skin is icky. Finally checked that last possible place, the cupboard in the tv cabinet. No sign. I glanced sideways as I was getting up from the floor and saw them tucked in the storage basket on the table next to me. I swear I'd checked there at least once before. Oh well, they are safely stashed away now and I did find my cloud dies that I was looking for a couple of weeks ago. Every cloud and all that!
When I went to the craft shop a while ago I came across this verse, a stamp by impression obsession. It reminded me that I had an Elizabeth Crafts Ladybird die in my stash that I had never used and a cunning plan was born.
I used some flowers and foliage dies from Tonic. There are two separate dies for each flower/ leaf, a solid shape and a more intricate shape. I die cut them both and layered them up. All mat and layered up on a 6x6 card blank with some gems and faux stitching to finish.
It should be ladybird, even though bug is cuter and technically more accurate. What do you think?

  1. Our weather has been dreadful here today or as we say locally "dreich!"
Which is basically wet, windy, cloudy and all things nasty. Think a cold November day and you wouldn't be far wrong. Most disturbing to hear that the south are basking in sunshine.

Still you card is very summery and has lightened my mood. A super sentiment too.

Enjoy the heat and sunshine. Send some up here too please.

    Hugs Erika. x

  6. Awww love your ladybug card, but you're right it shoudl definitely be ladybird!! We used to get them in our garden, but its years since I saw one :(
Bet it was maddening looking for those dies, it drives me absolutely crazy when I've a notion of using something and it's never where it's supposed to be!

  7. Wonderful and what a brilliant sentiment. Isn't it funny when we search and search and then the borrowers put them exactly where we looked in the first place, the cheeky buggers.
