I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest DT over at the fabulous Retro Rubber Challenge blog, this time the challenge is a colour inspiration
The purpose of their challenges is to get us using those poor stamps that have been languishing in our drawers for over a year. I found this cute stamp from an A4 set from Buzzcraft featuring FairyDoodles which I must have had for at least 8 years. The end of the branch had come detached but I lined it up the best I could and joined it up with a fine liner pen. I used my trusty copics to colour the image picking up colours from the inspiration photo and die cut the scene using spellbinders labels 8 and the matching decorative labels set for the frame. On a 7x5 card blank I trimmed some purple card to fit and embossed it with Sue Wilson's Heart Lattice embossing folder. I raided my flower stash to add a few blooms under his/her feet and a touch of glamour dust on the wings to finish. Why not join us with this challenge, just remember to use a stamp that is a year old or older and tell us it's age, photo ID's not required!
Hello Cara: Oh my goodness, I love, love Fairies and this cutie is no exception. This card is adorable, I can't help but smile at this sweet little Fairy's smiling face, the whole scene is precious, your lovely coloring brought this image to life.
ReplyDeleteI love that die you used, it's the perfect way to frame this little Fairy complete with the beautiful detail of that sprig of flowers.
Thank you for being our guest designer at Retro Rubber, we are thrilled you join in the fun this week and hope to see you again in our gallery.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.

Cara! Wow, love this card! The layers and texture are wonderful and your coloring of this little cutie fairy (decided it's a girl because of the ruffles on her clothes) is fantastic! We are so happy that you joined us as a guest designer for our challenge and hope you will be back in our gallery soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a challenge and I love the stamp you found and coloured.

That's one cute fairy on a swing.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea to get out old stamps and re use them. So many of mine need a good dust first though!
Hugs Erika. x
Your invitation to be a guest DT is well deserved. This is a lovely, cheery card. I will pop over to the challenge and may even enter myself. Lilian
ReplyDeleteAdorable card, Cara! LOVE that fairy doodle. And you have colored all the details so well! Such a great take on the color inspiration. Thanks so much for taking time to be our guest designer this challenge. We are looking forward to seeing you often in the RRCB gallery!!
ReplyDeleteWell done on your GDT slot, and what a wonderful card you've made for it!
ReplyDeleteThanks to your great detective work, I've now identified the mystery folder as Spellbinders Mbossabilities Imperial and that means it almost certainly came from the HUGE goody bag I won from the lovely Christine Emberson's monthly charity kit draw over at Creativity Continues. There was so much in the goody bag that I couldn't take it all in and set some of the items aside to play with at a later date - the folder must have been one of them.
