Happy Birthday

I hope you're all enjoying beautiful sunshine wherever you are. Anyone would think that it was Springtime!
My mojo is still being elusive, but I'm hoping that he will come out to play soon if I try lots of exciting challenges. With that in mind I decided to have a go at the sketch from try stampin on Tuesday. I had to flip the sketch as I didn't trim the image equally at both sides, whoops. Hopefully there is still enough of the sketch left to be recognisable!
I chose the stamp to fit in with the current challenge at Retro rubber, which is to use a water theme- RRCB36. The stamp had to be at least a year old and according to the lili of the valley inspiration blog it was released in 2014 and I know I bought it when it was new. Somewhere I have a picture of the card I made when I bought it, might have to try and dig it out for Oldie Friday over at Erika's blog.
Back to business. I used my favourite copics to colour the image and papers from an old lili of the valley pad (possibly Promises?). I used a bit of crochet lace and a lace flower that I layered up after snipping it from a trim. The sentiment banner is by Clearly Besotted. Glossy accents, glamour dust and that silver sparkle pen that Sarn made me buy added the sparkle, and of course a bit of faux stitching just to tie it all together. As usual the dodgy photographer has made everything look wonky when it is straight in real life, honest guv.

  3. Beautiful card, I love this little character. Looks like she is having a ball, floating along having a wee drink or two. Colouring is lovely as is your beautiful lace and flower. I never think to use these things.
Photo looks straight to me (I who suffers from crooked eye syndrome:). When you work out how to take a straight photo let me know cause I could use a tip or two.

  4. This is a real cutie, Cara! That is one happy fairy chillin' on the lily pad! I can't see her transistor radio, but it looks like she has the music turned up loud somewhere!! How's that for aging myself? Who even remembers transistor radios anymore?!! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

  8. Another lovely card! It is just plain awful when transpiration goes missing, It will come back just when you are not expecting it to. I find a good old browse of the Blogs, and Pinterest sometimes helps, and also just looking through my papers. Judy x

  10. Hey Cara, I love this, great image that you have beautifully coloured as always. I really like her sparkly wings. Mojo will return when she is good and ready, I've found these things can't be forced, so enjoy the break :) Cx

  11. Hi there Cara: This is such a sweet and beautiful card, I love this little Faeries from Lili of the Valley, I have several of their stamps. What a fresh and lovely scene you've created, love this cutie sitting in that Lily Pad sipping her cool drink, super fun detail of the sun glasses, just fabulous.
And you are correct, the beautiful pattern paper from Lili of the Valley is from a pack called "Promises".
Looks to me that your MOJO is alive and well and believe me, it's normal if sometimes seems elusive.
Thank you for giving your MOJO a workout with Retro Rubber, please come back to the gallery soon.
    Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.

  15. Well if this is what you create when your mojo has gone astray, when you're on form your work must be amazing. This is so lovely, gorgeous sweet image and wonderful colours, I love it, Kate x

  16. Your colouring is fabulous Cara, especially on the water. Can you teach me please? lol! It is something that I struggle with still, colouring in, I can use watercolours to colour in and acrylics are amazing for slapping on but alcohol pens are my nemesis Karen x
