Who knew shoes could get chicken pox?!

As it's April fools day, I'm joining Darnell for April Fool's Day Boo Boo Hop. Darnell had the great idea that we should share those cards that when you stand back to admire your work, you gradually realise that maybe that wasn't the best idea you've had. In my case, Hubby looked at this card and enquired, "Why has that shoe got chicken pox?". It seemed like a great idea, the little spots on the shoe were just crying out for a bit of sparkle. I hadn't realised how the height and dimension of the gems would stand out like a very bad rash. The card is still lurking in a box mocking me two years later....
With its age in mind, I'm also sharing this card with Erika for oldie friday, not so much a golden oldie, more an acne oldie!

  1. I really don't think this is much of a boo boo at all.....so the shoe has a rash....I can think of worse things....LOL!

  4. We've all done something that we thought we were proud of until someone - usually the OH - states something obvious that we didn't see until that point, and then it just mocks us! LOL TFS! Hazel xx

  6. LOL @ Acne oldie! LOL It's really a pretty card, and I must admit - I'd have probably wanted to add the gemstones too! I love embellishments! You put a lot of effort into this card, so hang onto it a little while longer. It will be perfect for someone out there I'm sure!

  7. I had to smile at the chicken pox shoe comment by your hubby Cara but it's actually a very pretty card. Very Girlie. Mine is a shoe this week too. Barbxx

  8. Well, it appeared to me to be more elegant looking with all that bling on it. I love your description of it though, but actually like your shoe myself.

  10. Hi Cara,
I too love the shoe, and think it looks so very lovely, and your designed card is also fab.
If I could wear shoes like that at my age I'm sure I would have a pair.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  12. I really like the card, the shoes are very elegant, in any event, no rash. Real women wear the joy of just such glass slippers. Where did the idea that this rash? Hubby ... it is 100% man, and they get on nothing they do not know :-)

  13. I think your spotted shoes are quite snazzy, sporting their sparkly bling! Thing how sensational these would look with 'just' the right dress...something simple to really let those shoes take the stage! Love this! Awesome 'oopsie' in my books...

  17. LOVE it, another superb idea from the lovely Darnell. I often take the cards I don't love to a Charity shop, makes me feel better about myself and you know, someone out there will love what you don't. Personally I think your Hubby was wrong here, this is gorgeous. Have a great weekend, its gloriously sunny here in NYC. Cx

  18. Nice shoe, typical that the husband is the one to point out the obvious to us. As we glory in what we have made. I reckon you should post it out anyway, its too nice to sit in the box.

  20. Too elegant for sox, add some pox! :) I think it's really pretty, but maybe something a little lower profile would have been better for adding sparkle! Hehehhee... TFS.

  21. Very pretty rash though. Perhaps you could take them off and paper piece that part of the shoe to hide the glue traces!

I think it is a rather lovely card once made rash free!!!....

  24. Don't you just LOVE a husband's critique of our 'artwork'?
Cute shoe, love the bling, ;-) Cara

  25. Are you kidding me, Cara?! Men! What woman wouldn't love to have her uptown-Saturday-night-shoes bedazzled and beblinged like this?! These in-house critics are too much! If you want to send that card to someone, email me and we will become card pen pals! I love it! But then we all know my taste is all in my mouth, haha, and I can see where he had you thinking you had made a Big Fat Card Boo Boo! I very much appreciate that you shared it in my first annual BFCBB Hop! Happy April Fool's Day!! Hugs, Darnell

  29. Ok, first off you know men, they always have an off the wall comment. I was sitting here looking at this card and thinking, "I don't see any boo boo's. It a beautiful card!". And I still think that! I love this card and I think you should get it out the box and use it because all I see is a blinged out beautiful shoe I wish I could wear! lol I'm so over high heals because I have no balance anymore, but still wish I could wear beautiful shoes like this one. Hugs, Brenda
